Action Alert Dr. Ferrer

Action Alert
2006-09-05 Free Society Project

Yesterday evening an associate of Dr. Ferrer in Havana informed by
telephone from Havana that Dr. Darsi Ferrer had been released on
Saturday afternoon. Darsi was treated with courtesy, although threatened
and pressured by his State Security interrogators and handlers.

It seems that because he is now better known internationally, this
offers him a level of protection that lesser known dissidents don't
have. So, let's stay attentive to him, his group, and their wonderful
work.If you want additional information on Dr. Ferrer's work, please
contact me. It would be great if the work of his Health and Human Rights
Center becomes better known.

Let's also continue asking the Cuban government to stop the harassment
of Dr. Ferrer and the rest of Cuba's peaceful opposition.

Below is a report sent by www.bitacoracubana.com in Spanish on Dr.
Ferrer's experience.

Thanks to all who offered their support.

Regards,

Maria

P.S. If you missed the alert on his detention and attempted murder of
his son, it is attached to this message.
