Eleven Cuban migrants who arrived in Cayman Brac Sunday were unable to
continue their journey because their boat was damaged on the reef.

Nineteen migrants are now housed in Cayman Brac and will shortly be
transferred to Grand Cayman for the usual processing.

In another incident, the cruise liner Century, en route to George Town
Harbour, picked up 12 Cuban migrants last week. The group remained
onboard the ship and, upon arrival in the US, will be transferred to the
US Coast Guard for processing, according to Immigration officials.

A Cayman Islands Immigration officer interviewed the migrants aboard the
ship and reported that the migrants, when asked, opted to remain on
board the ship.

The Immigration official who interviewed the Cubans said they appeared
to be in good health and were being properly cared for by the ship's
security staff.
