Mother of dissident harassed by Rapid Response Brigade

SANTA CLARA, Cuba, October 21 (Alain Ramón Gómez Ramos, Cubanacán Press / www.cubanet.org) - Finding that dissident Léster Sánchez Hernández was not home, members of a Rapid Response Brigade shouted insults and threats at his mother, María Hernández Fernández.

The incident occurred at 2 p.m. on Wednesday when 40 members of the brigade stationed themselves in front of the Paseo de La Paz in Santa Clara.

The block committee regional delegate, Cecilia Cedeño Bazo, told Hernández Fernández that she was going to lose title to her property because she and her son were undesirables and they'd be put out on the street.

Others shouted "Down with Imperialism" and "Down with Dissidents" and ripped letters from a sign on the house that said "Cambio," Change.
