Insure and Go is to switch its underwriter from AIG to Europ Assistance
just weeks after Post revealed that it was uncomfortable with the
insurer adding Cuba as a destination to its list of excluded risks.
In a statement Insure and Go said: "The decision to switch underwriter
has been taken by the company in order to ensure its premiums remain as
competitive as possible, while improving its already excellent customer
service. There will be no impact on any policies for existing customers.
"Under the terms of the new relationship, Europ Assistance will run
Insure and Go's medical assistance service, as well as becoming its
underwriter, and will also offer a personal assistance service."
Perry Wilson from Insure and Go said: "Europ Assistance is an extremely
strong, global operation with a superb support infrastructure in markets
across the world. Our new relationship, whereby it will run our medical
assistance service as well, will bring more of our services under one
roof, helping to streamline our operations and, we believe, improving
our customers' experience."
Paul Everett from Europ Assistance added: "Insure and Go is the leading
direct travel insurance firm in the UK. Its decision to switch to our
underwriting and assistance services demonstrates our global reach and
our ability to respond to demand anywhere and at any time. We look
forward to developing a successful relationship with Insure and Go to
provide peace of mind to its two million customers each year."
