Exporting to Cuba is the focus of a Dec. 12 international business
luncheon in Wilmington organized by the World Trade Center Delaware.

John Cassidy, vice president of international sales and marketing at
Perdue Farms Inc. in Salisbury, Md., will be the featured speaker.
Perdue, which processes and sells chicken, grain, soy products and
organic fertilizer, exports to Cuba.

Cassidy will discuss exporting to Cuba under the Trade Sanctions Reform
and Export Enhancement Act of 2000. Under the act, which permits U.S.
companies to export certain agricultural and food items, the United
States exported $350 million worth of food and agricultural products to
Cuba in 2005.

The World Trade Center, a nonprofit organization with the goal of
helping small and medium sized businesses expand trade overseas, is
hosting the luncheon at the University & Whist Club Ballroom between
noon and 1:30 p.m. For reservations call 656-7905 or visit their Web
site at www.wtcde.com.
