Leftists blocking anti-Castro film

Last night we went to see The Lost City, a film about the life of a
Cuban family in pre-Castro Cuba and after the revolution. In 21/2 hours,
actor/director Andy Garcia was brilliant in capturing what happened in
Cuba, which affected not only him, his family and every Cuban that,
faced that reality, and had no choice but to leave or "escape" in order
to live free.
Hollywood has shut him down and this movie is only playing in 18
theaters nationwide, why? Because when Fidel Castro, the poster child
and hero of the Hollywood left, is portrayed as a terrorist communist
dictator, the communist sympathizers in this country don't like it and
do whatever is necessary to block anyone from getting the truth about
him out in the open.
The scene where Andy Garcia is saying goodbye to his parents played out
hundreds of thousands of times over and over again, all over Cuba since
1959. I could not help remembering when my parents hugged my
grandparents for the last time, all along keeping optimistic telling
them, "Don't worry, Fidel and this communist system won't last much
longer. We will soon get reunited in a free Cuba." That was 35-plus
years ago. My parents could not even be at the funerals of their parents.
This movie is a must-see for every Cuban-born individual, a double
must-see for the American-born children of Cubans. It is a "learn from
us" film, for every Latin American individual who is confused about the
true purpose of leaders like Chávez in Venezuela, Morales in Bolivia and
others who view Fidel Castro as their mentor.
It is also a definitely must-see for every God-fearing American who
lives every day without remotely thinking that what started in Cuba 47
years ago could ever affect them here, now or in the future.
I urge every one of my friends to please see this movie, get the word
out, let us show Hollywood that when films like these are made, these
are the types of films that can truly educate the majority of the
misinformed Americans, and these are the films that we want to see.
Never take your freedom for granted.
