Jauregui contradicts PSOE policy on Cuba

Jáuregui contradicts PSOE policy on Cuba
Spain Herald

PSOE spokesman Ramon Jauregui said on Friday, "We must tell Spanish
companies to leave Cuba and not participate in this fraud, because
perhaps when the change comes there will be consequences." Jauregui
called Spanish companies doing business in Cuba "cynical, because they
only care about profits," while Cuban workers have no fundamental labor
rights. His statements are a complete contradiction of the PSOE
administration's policies.
At a roundtable at the European Union headquarters, Jauregui declared,
"Spanish companies are participating in the swindle that the Cuban
regime perpetrates against its workers...Under the Castro tyranny,
unions are not represented, the lack of collective bargaining is total,
and the (Spanish companies) commit fraudulent subcontracting of a Cuban
company, which manages human resources."

Referring to the administration, he said, "Tell the Spanish companies
and the Spanish gopvernment, if you want to be socially responsible,
don't promote or stimulate investment there...and warn them that the
Cuban people will make them pay for it."

The Zapatero administration has fomented closer relations between the
European Union and the Cuban regime, convincing the EU to lift the
diplomatic sanctions it had imposed on Cuba due to the jailing of
political prisoners.
