Rome, Jan. 31, 2008 (CWNews.com) - Plans are in place for a February 25
meeting between Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone (bio - news), the Vatican
Secretary of State, and Cubva's acting leader Raul Castro, the Apcom
news agency reports.
Cardinal Bertone will travel to Cuba from February 20 to 26. Vatican
Radio had previously reported that the Secretary of State would probably
meet with Raul Castro-- who is acting in place of the ailing Fidel
Castro-- but no date for the meeting has been announced.
During his visit-- timed for the 10th anniversary of the historic trip
to Cuba by the late Pope John Paul II (bio - news)-- Cardinal Bertone
will visit Havana, Santa Clara, and Santiago de Cuba, the home of the
shrine of Our Lady of Cobre.
