HAVANA, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Cuba sent a group of local soccer
experts to Germany on Wednesday to attend a soccer training course and
watch World Cup matches, in a bid to boost its weak soccer results to
the heights seen in other sports, local media said.

William Bennet, the head of the Cuban Football Assocation's (AFC's)
technical section, leads the delegation, which also includes Cuba's
national team manager, Raul Gonzalez; the country's under-17 team
manager, Manuel Rodriguez; under-20 team manager, Francisco Carranzana;
and women's national team manager, Rufino Sotolongo.

AFC secretary general, Antonio Garces, said that the Cubans would
stay a month in Germany working with German league club, Bonner.

Garcia said that he would fly to Germany, leading a separate
delegation to attend the Football Federation Congress and International
Federation of Football Associations's meeting. Enditem
