ISLA DE LA JUVENTUD, Cuba, August 17 (Lamasiel Gutiérrez, Isla Press /
www.cubanet.org) - Political prisoner Rolando Jiménez, says authorities
at the Guayabo prison deny him visits by his 10-year-old son because he
refuses to wear a prison uniform.

Jiménez said in a clandestine letter that prison chief José Ondares told
him there could be a visit on his son's birthday August 11 if he wore a
prison uniform.

"Once again I won't see my son because I'm not going to change my ideals
for the crumbs you have to offer," he said he replied.

Jiménez is serving a 12-year-sentence for revealing state secrets and
disrespecting Fidel Castro.
