MIAMI — Fred Thompson may be a movie and TV star, but he's also a
Republican presidential candidate in full possession of his
Hollywood-bashing skills.

During a visit to Little Havana this morning, Thompson said the U.S.
needs to continue its trade embargo and sanctions against Fidel Castro's
communist Cuba.

And in an apparent reference to filmmaker Michael Moore and other
liberals who have praised Cuba's health care system, he said:

"We send our movie stars and other people down there who are gullible
enough to be wined and dined and see these little Potemkin villages that
he sets up and they come here and say 'He's wonderful. He's got the best
health care system in the world.' I want to know where they go if they
get seriously ill. I want to see if they go to Cuba to get their health
care."

Thompson is off to Cape Coral and New Port Richey on the second day of
his three-day Florida campaign bus tour.
