WASHINGTON (XFN-ASIA) - A strong earthquake with a 6.1 magnitude struck
Sunday in the straits between western Jamaica and southeastern Cuba, US
seismologists said.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties in the quake,
which the US Geological Survey said was located offshore 116 kilometers
north of Lucea, Jamaica and 157 kilometers southwest of Manzanillo, Cuba.
The quake struck at 3.56 pm (2056 GMT) at a depth of 10 kilometers,
according to the USGS.
