ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police are remembering one of
their own who was killed in the line of duty.
Today marks 50 years Officer Robert Rosenbloom would have been with the
department. He was shot and killed in 1971 during a traffic stop on I-40
near Albuquerque.
The three suspects then hijacked a TWA flight and fled to Cuba. Charlie
hill is the only one still alive.
Today Rosenbloom's son thanked everyone for their support.
"Knowing the effort everyone has undertaken to be here and making this
so nice really shows that after 44 years our dad is not forgotten," said
Bob Rosenbloom.
State Police say they're working to extradite Hill from Cuba. He has
refused to return in the past because he believes he wouldn't get a fair
trial.
He claims he didn't kill the officer.
