MIAMI -- The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Kodiak Island repatriated
five Cuban migrants to Bahia de Cabañas, Cuba Oct. 31.
Good Samaritans notified watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Key West,
Fla., that they were on scene with a rustic vessel with five Cuban
migrants aboard approximately 20 miles south of Key West, Fla., Friday.
The Coast Guard Cutter Pea Island crew was diverted and safely embarked
the five Cuban migrants from the rustic vessel.

Once aboard Coast Guard cutters, all migrants are provided with food,
water, shelter and basic medical attention.
The cutter Kodiak Island is a 110-foot patrol boat homeported in Key West.
The cutter Pea Island is a 110-foot patrol boat homeported in Key West.
