Cuba to host international dog show

Havana, Aug 29 (IANS) Cuba will host a show of the International Dog
Federation (IDF) for the first time in April 2009, said the Prensa
Latina news agency.
Miguel Martinez, IDF director for the Americas and the Caribbean, said
the show here would attract dog breeders not only from the Americas but
also from Europe and other parts of the world.
Dog owners highly value the certificates granted by such international
beauty championships, Martinez said in a message to the Cuban Dog
Federation.
The first dog show in Latin America and the Caribbean was held in
Ecuador in August 2000. It was followed by other shows in Chile, Costa
Rica, Argentina and Colombia.
