Police raid house after meeting with European diplomats

HAVANA, March 20 (Jaime Leygonier / www.cubanet.org) - Darsi Ferrer,
director of the "Juan Bruno Zayas" Center of Health and Human Rights,
says state security agents raided her home following a meeting there
with diplomats from the European Union who were interested in her work.

"First they came months with a search warrant and stole my computer,
documents from the United Nations and a tape recorder," she said. "I say
they robbed me because the search warrant said 'search for objects of
crime.'"

Ferrer said the latest search occurred March 13, 72 hours after the
visit by the diplomats. "They were interested in learning about the
social work of the health center," she said.

Ferrer said she spent the weekend visiting relatives in Pinar del Rio
with her husband and infant son. Upon returning on the Monday, she said
she found the house in disorder.
