Minor Earthquake Rattles Eastern Guantanamo Province

HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 30 (acn) A 3.2 earthquake was reported early on
Saturday in the Cuban easternmost province of Guantanamo by the Network
of Stations of the Cuban National Seismologic Service.

The earthquake was detected at 4:54 a.m. local time and localized at
20.36 North latitude and 74.66 West longitude, 44.9 km southeast of Moa
and 17.8 km west of Baracoa, at a depth of 10 km.
According to several reports, the earthquake was felt in Baracoa, Maisi
and in the community of La Maquina. No human or material damages have
been reported.
This is the second earthquake that shakes the seismic prone area of
Guantanamo in less than 24 hours. On Friday morning, at 7:11 am local
time, a 2.7 tremor was registered, although there were no reports of
perceptibility."
