An up-and-coming R&B artist has jumped on board the fight to bring Cody
LeCompte home from Cuba.
Dylan James was "shocked" to learn the Simcoe teen has been detained in
the communist country for three months and counting, without any charges
laid against him, for a car accident that wasn't his fault.
So the Cambridge resident decided to get involved.
"I like being able to make difference with my music," the 18-year-old
told The Sun.
James will donate all of the proceeds from iTunes of his single
Mysterious to the LeCompte family.
He's hoping his fans - there are 22,000 on his Facebook group alone -
will download the song for $0.99 and raise enough to help Cody's mom,
Danette.
She's already in debt more than $30,000 as she fights to bring home her
son with little help from the Canadian government.
Dylan, who has toured Canada with big names such as Sean Paul and Karl
Wolf, is also urging his fans to help put pressure on Canadian and Cuban
officials.
