Defecting Cuban boxers' pro debut stalled a week

BOGOTA, Colombia A Miami-based boxing manager says the pro debuts of
three Olympic champion Cuban boxers have been delayed for a week.
The boxers have defected from Cuba and signed contracts with a German
promoter. They have been refused entry into the United States.

The manager and attorney for heavyweight Odlanier Solis, flyweight Yan
Bhartelemy and featherweight Yuriorkis Gamboa says their pro debuts have
been postponed for a week. They were scheduled to fight tomorrow in Miami.

He says though the U-S Department of Homeland Security has approved the
group's entry, officials at the embassy in Colombia wouldn't give visas
to the boxers. The boxers entered Colombia in December.

The boxers each picked up gold medals at the 2004 Olympic Games.
