PORT CANAVERAL -- A Carnival cruise ship made a three hour detour to
rescue nine Cuban refugees at sea.

Investigators said the men had been lost at sea for 10 days and were on
a deflating raft.

Ship officials decided to stop the 953-foot-long ship and throw food,
water and life jackets to the stranded Cubans.

Ship officials were instructed not to bring the men on the ship. The
Carnival Glory waited for the U.S. Coast Guard to take the refugees aboard.

Officials said the Cubans will most likely be returned to their country.
