Dissidents injured in clash with government supporters
SANTA CLARA, Cuba, October 20 (Niurvys Díaz Remond, Cubanacán Press / www.cubanet.org) - Paramilitaries attacked a group of dissident pacifists, four of whom suffered injuries that required medical treatment.
The dissidents were outside a building where a hearing was being held October 14 in a case involving a colleague, Noelia Pedraza Jiménez.
After the clash, they went to a nearby police station where they were told they needed medical statements to back up their claim.
Other paramilitaries followed them to the police station where a further clash occurred.
The Arnaldo Milián Castro provincial hospital treated Jesús Eloy Alberto Gutiérrez for a contusion, Yunieski García López for a broken wrist and collarbone, Yoel Fonseca for a fractured ankle and Yordi Tápanesfor a dislocated collarbone.
